Notes about the wines

Henschke Hill of Grace 2010 Eden Valley
"An extraordinary wine, undoubtedly one of the greatest ever to appear under this hallowed label. Deep, dark red-purple hue and a powerful bouquet. The palate is explosively intense with seemingly endless length. I've rated it the best, the only one to receive 99 points." (Huon Hooke)

Henschke Mount Edelstone 2012 Eden Valley
First produced in 1952, the 2012 vintage marks the 60th release of this iconic wine. Planted in 1912 the Mount Edelstone vineyard now boasts vines more than 100 years old. Maturation took place in a combination of 87% French and 13% American (32% new, 68% seasoned) hogsheads for a period of 18 months.

Henschke Keyneton Euphonium 2012 Barossa
One of Australia's true great wine treasures, Henschke produce a range of wines that are the envy of most. Keyneton Estate is often the first premium wine from this most famous of producers that people try. As such, the attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship of this wine is a testament to the vision and passion of Stephen and Prue Henschke.

Penfolds Grange Bin 95 – Vintage 2001
Penfolds Grange is the pre-eminent Australian red wine of the highest quality. The vision and dedication of Max Schubert is the sole reason this wine is so deeply entrenchedinto the psyche of the Australian wine scene as well as being highly sought after the world around. Deep purple. Very elemental blackberry/raspberry/menthol aromas and sweet malt/savoury oak. A strikingly rich concentrated wine with deep-set musky blackberry dark chocolate fruit flavours, underlying savoury oak and ripe smooth tannins. Finishes long and sweet. An immaculately balanced wine.

Penfolds Bin 707 – Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon is said by many to be the richest and most robust of all the great Penfolds iconic red wines. It is the ultimate expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. First named by an ex-Qantas marketer, Bin 707 has sleek dark berry and dark chocolate characters that dominate with plenty of natural fruit sweetness. The tannins are present, but not overwhelming. The 2006 comes from what can be considered almost perfect. Excellent vine health coupled with a warm January and warm, but temperate harvest period has resulted in a 707 that will live on for decades.

Penfolds RWT Barossa Valley - Shiraz 2011
First vintaged in 1997 after several years of ‘Red Winemaking Trials'', RWT is somewhat of a new-comer, however this impressive Shiraz is now a fully fledged member of the Luxury release each year for Penfolds. RWT is opulent and fleshy, a pointer to the single origin of this trademark wine, the Barossa Valley. The fruit for RWT is selected for its aromatic qualities and fine texture; characters which are on show in the 2011 vintage. Fragrant flavours of blackberries and ripe cherry combine with dark chocolate and vanilla to provide another exceptional RWT.
